Allow Nnamdi Kanu Some Comfort - Judge Orders DSS
Justice Binta Nyako of an Abuja Federal High Court has ordered that the DSS allow Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) some comfort.
The Judge gave the order when the accused's lead counsel, Mike Ozikhome told her of the ill treatments meted out to his client and every inmate who associates with him in the prison.
Speaking during Tuesday’s proceedings, Ozikhome disclosed that the IPOB leader was still subjected to solitary confinement.
Responding, the judge directed the DSS to allow the IPOB leader to change his clothes and to exercise.
Justice Nyako, however, informed the defence Counsel that "A detention facility is not a five-star hotel."
“I don’t want to see him in these clothes again. This one is almost off-white. Also, make sure that you allow him to exercise,” Nyako said.
Kanu is facing charges bordering on terrorism and treasonable felony before Justice Nyako.
