Religion is dogmatic in nature; you accept some practices without asking questions. This is against the inquisitive nature of man...but they go on piling up their unanswered questions till they're tired or die. Lol. It all started after the fall of man... Man who was spiritually alive and could relate with God freely suddenly became spiritually dead due to his disobedience. Imagine a human being who has lost all his five senses of sight, smell, tou ch, taste, and hearing! The person can be said to be dead while still "alive". That was what happened to the spirit of man after the fall. Man was reduced from being a spiritual being to being a dying organic entity. He lost all his spiritual senses and could no longer relate with God who is a Spirit. At this point one may want to ask "If man lost all his spiritual senses how come God who is a Spirit could still talk to a carnal Adam?" Well, it is because God is a Universal Communicator! All of man's (mis)behaviours are inspired and/or informed by these two things - fear and selfishness. God's antidote to these are FAITH and LOVE. If you have faith fear loses its grip on you. If you have love selfishness loses its hold on you. God's word brings faith which dispels fear and love which eliminates selfishness. Even when we misbehave sometimes God still cares and guides us. He bears us no malice. But are we not tired of falling and rising?! Yes, His grace is ALWAYS there to pick us up but aren't we tired of incurring unnecessary scars that disfigure us?! Maturity is when you don't see His overwhelming grace and "Scandalous Love" (Scandalous in that the just God allowed His Only Son die for a stiff-necked us!) as a license to keep sinning but seek to minimize, if not eradicate, the tendencies to fall.
